The Community Psychology Network (CPN), in collaboration with Web Design by Cookie, recognizes excellence in web design and development, particularly within the field of psychology. With millions of websites online, CPN aims to highlight valuable resources through its awards program. CPN bestows three distinct awards, each with its own specific criteria:
Carefully review the criteria for each award before submitting a nomination. You may nominate your own site or another’s, but only one nomination per site per award is permitted. Multiple submissions for a single site for the same award will be disregarded.
This award recognizes psychology websites that are informative, well-designed, easy to navigate, and demonstrate a mastery of the web medium as it applies to the field of psychology. These sites often provide comprehensive information applicable to a wide audience, including professors, researchers, clinicians, graduate and undergraduate students, and the general public. The primary focus of these sites is educational value. This award is exclusively for psychology sites and is highly competitive.

The “Web Psych Excellence Award” is given to those psychology sites that are informative, well designed, easy to navigate, and have shown a mastery of the web and internet medium as it applies to the field of psychology. Often sites that receive this award are comprehensive in nature and provide a wealth of information in the diverse psychological discipline which is applicable to professors, researchers, clinicians, graduate and undergraduate students, and the public. The winners of the “Web Psych Excellence Award” primarily maintain their sites for their educational value. This award is only awarded to psychology sites and is very difficult to receive.

These sites are often created by psychology professors or students and playfully poke fun at the profession. Sites should have no broken links and load quickly. This award is also exclusively for psychology sites.

The “Psychedelic Web Site Award” is awarded to psychology sites that are entertaining or humorous, well designed, easy to navigate, and are worth a procrastination visit. Often these sites are created by professors or students of psychology or poke fun in a good way at the profession. Sites should contain no broken links and should be easy to load. This award is only awarded to psychology sites.
NOTE: Non-psychology sites are not eligible for this award.

This award is open to personal or commercial websites that are either entertaining or a valuable resource for the internet community. Sites must be well-designed, easy to navigate, and free of broken links or images. Fast loading times and minimal plugin requirements are also important. If the site includes MIDI music, a way to turn it off is required. This award has the loosest criteria, making it the easiest to receive from CPN.

The “Way Cool Web Site Award” is awarded to personal or commercial sites that are either entertaining or a great resource for the internet community. Sites must be well designed, easy to navigate, contain no broken links or images and well worth the visit. These sites should be relatively fast loading and not require a great deal of extra plug-ins to experience the site. If the site contains a midi then it must have a way to shut the music off. This is the easiest award to receive from CPN due to its very loose criteria.
NOTE: All sites are eligible for this award. Vanity sites are discouraged from applying although they may recieve the award if they are well done.
